Wairarapa 

The primary point of contact for services for older adults is Needs Assessment and Service Coordination (NASC). NASC services cover help to stay at home, support services for carers and entry into residential care. 

They can also link with other District Health Board (DHB) services and community based agencies.

  Red Cross volunteer service: 0800 924 287, 06 377 3586 or wairarapa@redcross.org.nz, office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm. The service offers free, volunteer transport to a range of medical appointments in the Wairarapa area. Transport also provided for outpatient trips to hospitals in Wellington, Hutt, Kenepuru and Palmerston North. Bookings are essential. The service cannot accommodate wheelchair users. Donations are appreciated.
  St Johns Health Shuttle: 0800 589 630, office hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3pm. The service offers free, volunteer transport to a range of medical appointments in the Wairarapa area only. Bookings are required at least 24 hours in advance and donations are appreciated.
